Are the super-intelligent machines coming? (Campus Radio)

Technology foresight researchers at KIT try to clarify whether machines can develop human consciousness

It sounds quite mysterious and somehow dangerous: "clarifying the suspicion of ascending consciousness in artificial intelligence". Under this somewhat cumbersome title, the Federal Ministry of Research has commissioned technology follow-up researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to clarify scientifically what's up to the idea that robots could soon have human intelligence. Not an easy task given the widespread science-fiction fantasies of the super-intelligent machines that make people look really old.
